VBMA Announces Free Admission, Class Discounts for U.S. Military Veterans
Posted May 13, 2025
U.S. military Veterans can now visit the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) galleries and sculpture gardens free of charge. The Museum will also offer Veterans a 15% discount on regular classes and workshops, including Cork, Canvas & Co. This is in addition to the schedule of free classes for Veterans regularly offered at the Museum.
“VBMA has always provided active-duty U.S. military personnel free admission to the Museum,” shares Director of Education and Visitor Experience Sara Klein. “With the increasingly high levels of engagement in our classes for Veterans and their genuine interest in our exhibitions, we reexamined our admissions policy and recommended waiving the admissions fee—an action immediately endorsed by senior management.”
More than 15,000 Veterans live in Indian River County, according to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics.
In celebration of the free admission program, Vero Beach Museum of Art has collaborated with the Veterans Council of Indian River County to provide a guided tour and reception for Veterans on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Veterans interested in attending can contact the Veterans Council at 772-410-5820 or info@veteranscouncilirc.org.
“Art is one of mankind’s treasured forms of relaxation, it provides so much for our imagination and takes us places, and that’s why it is so important for a Veteran to experience,” shares Veterans Council of Indian River County Board Chair Carlos Halcomb, Colonel, U.S. Air Force (Ret.). “This offer by the Vero Beach Museum of Art makes it possible for Veterans who live on fixed budgets to now get out and see the many treasures our museum has on display and also participate in creating art. Thank you for making this possible for so many here!”
