September 13 at the VBMA—Free Admission Second Saturday is Jam-Packed

Art lovers, artists, and environmentalists of all ages should mark their calendars for Saturday, September 13, a free admission day at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, rich with opportunities to meet A Tangled Plot artists Annie Blazejack and Geddes Levenson, learn about the Living Lagoon and the Florida ecosystem—critical inspirations for the artists, make art in the studios and sketch in the galleries, and experience the Vero Beach premiere of Picasso and the Progressive Proof: Linocut Prints from a Private Collection.
- Get creative with family artmaking activities in the Museum Studios from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. This month’s theme is Wearable Wonders.
- Celebrate last weekend for Well-Dressed: Artworks from the Permanent Collection exhibition (Titelman and Schumann Galleries) with a special edition of Sketching in the Galleries led by students in the Indian River Charter High School fashion program from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Then enjoy a first look at Fashion for Legacy, the program’s upcoming runway showcase, with a pop-up display in Holmen Hall.
- At 11 a.m., head to the Leonhardt Auditorium with the Environmental Learning Center (ELC) for the Living Lagoon for a multimedia presentation on the history and environmental importance of the Indian River Lagoon.
- At noon, join ELC in the Museum Driveway and meet a Florida Box Turtle and a small, friendly Red Rat Snake and learn about their role in the Florida ecosystem.
- View the summer exhibition A Tangled Plot: Works by Annie Blazejack and Geddes Levenson (Holmes Gallery), and from 2–3 p.m., meet the artists and get your catalog signed.
- Be among the first to experience Picasso and the Progressive Proof: Linocut Prints from a Private Collection in the Stark Gallery.
