Qigong is an ancient practice evolved from Traditional Chinese Medicine, martial arts, and philosophy. It is a practice designed to cultivate and balance qi (chi) – intrinsic life energy – by aligning breath, gentle movement, awareness and meditation to enhance physical well being and bring a calm state of mind. Effects and benefits may include: improved physical balance, loosens muscles, decreases stress and balances emotions, and eases joint pain. A 45-minute session of active qigong will be followed by a 20-minute period of guided meditation. Qigong can be practiced standing or sitting, according to individual needs, Pre-register to reserve a space or “drop in” for single sessions (drop in $15 per class).
