Meet multimedia artist James Prosek on Saturday, July 11, and help him create a special community canvas on the opening-day celebration of the exhibition James Prosek: At Work, at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Admission is free all day as part of the Museum’s Second Saturday programming, featuring exhibition-inspired activities for the entire family to enjoy.
Start the day off at 10 a.m. by joining James Prosek in creating a large-scale work inspired by the flora and fauna of the Indian River Lagoon. Drawing from Prosek’s deep engagement with the natural world, participants will help celebrate the beauty and biodiversity of our local ecosystem by contributing to this shared work.
Later, head to the studios where kids can participate in the Museum Studios family programming and create a fun Colorful Creatures art project inspired by Prosek’s work.
Be sure to take some time to enjoy the exhibition in the Holmes Gallery. James Prosek: At Work is a survey of more than 70 artworks that highlights Prosek’s range of practice, from on-site field studies to studio-based painting, watercolor, and sculpture. Docents will be on hand to offer mini-tours and answer questions.
