Carlos Mérida’s screenprint, Alegorica de la Danza (Allegory of the Dance), captures the energy and movement of dancers through intersecting lines and unusual, overlapping shapes. Much like Cunningham, he combined contemporary styles (Cubism and Surrealism) to create something new and avant-garde.
