Victoria’s World: A Cinematic Exploration of 19th Century England – Sold Out

March 19, 2019 @ 1:30 pm

$75. – $90.

March 19 through April 16, 2019, 1:30 pm

Do you think of the Victorian era as conservative, dark, unemotional, straight laced?  Come join us as we put to rest those old-fashioned notions and explore another side of life in Queen Victoria’s day. Even Victoria had her wild side.  Apart from setting a fashion statement for her times, by dressing all in black, there were others in her realm— novelists, playwrights, poets, politicians— who influenced Victoria’s World.  They were significant enough that we still enjoy and acknowledge their contributions to this day. One such person we’ll learn about is Alice Liddell, in the film “Dreamchild,” who was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland tales.  And please don’t forget to take advantage of a unique exhibit coming to the Vero Beach Museum of Art between February and May, 2019 , as well as special guest speakers, starting as early as January, 2019.  Watch for more news on that!
