PAINTING COLOR & LIGHT
Pamela Pike Gordinier
Why do some paintings “GLOW” and make your heart beat faster? Learn how to demystify color by looking at these artists who mastered color: Pierre Bonnard, Joaquin Sorolla, and Joseph Albers. Apply that knowledge to your own art choosing the right color scheme to best express yourself. Work with organizing a strong pattern of light and dark (Notan) to make more expressive, unified artwork. Learn “how” and “when” to use pure color, semi-neutrals, and neutrals (the tricky greys) through demonstrations, exercises, and daily critiques.
Pamela Pike Gordinier has been a member of The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, The Copley Society of Boston, and the Connecticut Watercolor Society. An award winning artist, her work hangs in the collections of several Fortune 500 companies. With a Master’s in Education, Pam works to demystify the language of art. She teaches in Stonington, CT, and has taught workshops in Venice, Portugal, and France.
