As one of the founding editors of InStyle magazine, where he served as Fashion Director for 15 years and then Editor-At-Large, he helped create the distinctive, always positive, you-can-do-this voice of InStyle and its embrace of hi/low fashion. Hal has produced events, consulted, and advised on marketing for such brands as Giorgio Armani, Coach, WWD MAGIC, Neiman Marcus, and Jones New York. Hal has also consulted for new products at DKNY and Tod’s where he designed men’s accessories. Hal has coordinated and produced fashion events for the American Express Centurion Card featuring such designers as Donatella Versace, Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu, Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta.

Formerly the Men’s Style Editor of The New York Times Magazine, Hal produced the award winning “Men’s Style of the Times” and numerous women’s fashion shoots. As a writer and columnist of pop culture, Hal’s cover stories, interviews and various columns have been published in The New Yorker, Elle, Interview, Vogue, New York, Vanity Fair, and Details.

Hal launched Hal Rubenstein & Associates to exercise his unique combination of expertise and enthusiasm in venues that reach his devoted audience even more directly. For the last three seasons he has served as guest Fashion Director for WWD MAGIC, and in May of 2014, Rubenstein joined Gabriel & Co., where, as Global Style Director, he is aiding the well-respected fine jeweler with 1,500 clients nationwide in creating new collections that celebrate their refined taste and enviable quality.

Hal is a frequent guest on television talk shows like The View, Today and The Early Show, regularly appearing on EXTRA’s red carpet coverage of award season in Hollywood as their fashion expert, has served as a judge multiple times on Iron Chef America and Top Chef Masters, lectures at The Fashion Institute of Technology, Parsons Institute, The Savannah College of Art and Design and The Governor’s Conference on Women.

The afternoon will include a 4pm presentation followed by a cocktail reception with Hal. Hal’s books will be available for purchase courtesy of the Vero Beach Book Center. Scroll down to buy your tickets!
