Morgan Kuster, instructor
The goal of this five-week course is for students, from the new-to-art crew to the creatively blocked, to cultivate their personal artistic practice using one of the most basic of tools: a sketchbook. Each week students will complete creative challenges, explore new prompts, and gain technical skills, alongside an artist practice assignment that will challenge students to think critically about the artwork they are making as well as help improve visual representation and artful thinking skills. At the end of this course, students will have strengthened and developed their technical skills, learned strategies to push through artist’s block, advance their creative habits, and an eye to draw inspiration from unexpected sources.
