Allie Comer attended Iowa State University, earning a B.S. in psychology. Her work in encaustic, mixed media and painting has been featured in local exhibitions and has received several awards. 

Robert Coon has a B.F.A. from the University of Georgia and an M.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts. He is an artist who works in many materials and has received national recognition for his large and colorful outdoor metal sculptures.

John Cullen earned a B.S. in art education at New York University, and an M.S. in art education from Pratt Institute. He works in a variety of media including watercolor, oil, graphite, block printing and collage. John has over 30 years’ experience as an art teacher, and has won numerous awards for his work.

Lorraine Fouquet has been a professional artist for over 30 years. She studied at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts and at the University of Hawaii. Other studies abroad include Italy and France. Suzanne Fox holds an M.F.A. in writing from Columbia University. Her books have been published by Simon & Schuster and Berkley/Penguin Putnam, among others, while her essays, poetry, and literary criticism have appeared in a variety of prestigious journals and collections. Wayne Kleinstiver is a graduate of Colorado College.  He studied classical voice with H. Colin Thorpe.  Opera and the study of classical singers has been his passion and avocation for more than 50 years, during which he has attended many live performances and acquired a large collection of recordings and videos.  He is a member of Vero Beach Opera Board of Directors and is Opera Studies Chair.

Shotsi LaJoie is a self taught artist and one of the co-owners of Tiger Lily Art Studios and Gallery. She received her BBA from St. Mary's Notre Dame and MA in Counseling from Webster University and is a practicing psychotherapist. She has taught cognitive and self image psychology since 1979.

Christopher Loughlin has a B.F.A. and an M.S. in education from Long Island University. He is a professional art instructor with more than twenty years of experience in the public school system and museum education.

Amanda Lucas attended the George Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. She has worked in glass fusion, enameling, silversmithing, PMC design, oil, watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, pastels and sculpture.

Dawn Mill has a B.A. in art from the University of Central Florida. She is a professional artist whose work includes watercolor, drawing and graphic art, pastel, oil, and acrylic. She teaches art to adults and children.

Dawn E. Miller studied under Annapolis artist and illustrator Gerard Valerio. It was later in her art career that she was introduced to pastels, a medium she has worked with for the past 15 years.

Marie Morrow graduated from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, and is a professional studio and exhibiting artist. She was a four-time honorable mention award winner at the A.E. Backus Gallery Annual Juried Show, and has taught painting to adults and children at her own gallery.

Warren Obluck earned his B.S. degree from the University of Southern California, and his M.S. from the Pulitzer School of Journalism at Columbia University. A career foreign service officer, he served as U.S. cultural attaché to the U.S. embassies in Manila, Tokyo, and Rome.

Jim Patteson, Ph.D., has a B.A. and M.A. in Humanities and a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies. He studied with Zen Master Dainin Katagiri for eight years. Patteson has taught at Indian River State College for 13 years.

George Paxton creates classically-inspired representational, figurative and portrait sculpture in terra-cotta and bronze. George was educated at the Art Students League in New York City and the Corcoran School of Art, Washington, D.C. Additionally, he has studied with numerous classical sculptors in the U.S. and Europe. For several years, George has maintained his sculpture studio in Vero Beach. He has won many awards in juried shows and art competitions. Jill Pease studied with Michelle Cassou, the founder of the Painting Experience School in San Francisco. Her studies also include the Creative Process, at Taos Art School, by Edith Wallace, who studied with Carl Jung.  Jill is one of the artists at Tiger Lily Studios in downtown Vero Beach.

Del Peterson won a scholarship to the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He also studied at the American Academy of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. Four of his watercolors have been chosen for the Artists of America calendars. He is a career commercial artist and instructor in watercolor, oil and acrylic.

Marlene Evans Putnam has conducted numerous workshops around the country. She is known for her portraits as well as seascapes, and has won many awards and continues to exhibit throughout the United States. Mrs. Putnam’s work is included in many public and private collections, and she was recently featured in Vero Beach Magazine.

Mary Segal holds a B.A. from Brown University with a concentration in studio art from Rhode Island School of Design, and pursued graduate studies in art at the Akademie of Fine Art in Munich, Germany and at Laguna College of Art and Design.

Francis Sprout received his B.F.A. from the University of Arizona, M.F.A. from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.A. in African Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. He taught at the University of Denver and was a tenured professor at Metropolitan State College in Denver. He also taught at Pratt Institute, Manhattanville College and Purchase College, SUNY.

Kathleen Staiger received her B.S. in art education and M.A. in art and literature from Hofstra University. She is a career art instructor and a prize-winning gallery artist. Her work appears in private and corporate collections throughout the country. Her book, The Oil Painting Course You’ve Always Wanted, was published by Watson-Guptill in 2006.

Regina Stark is a multi-media artist.  She has worked in printmaking, watercolor, acrylics, collage, illustration and all forms of decorative painting, and has won many awards for her work.  Regina has taught classes and workshops around the country, and is a member of several art leagues.

Philip Steel received a B.A. in architecture from Pennsylvania State University and an M.A. in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. He has studied drawing and painting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Philip has conducted watercolor workshops abroad. His work has won numerous awards.

Kim Weissenborn-Lopez is a graduate of Parsons School of Design. Much of her work is displayed here in Florida as well as many other collections in the United States and internationally. Kim has taught art for 25 years, and loves inspiring other artists to grow in their craft and encourages her students to stretch. Students, no matter what level, will benefit from her experience and teaching.
